DC Theatre Scene ends its 15 year run today. But we won’t be disappearing any time soon. Thanks to a generous donation, we will be able to remain online for the next 3 years.

No one covers New York theatre, from Broadway out to all the off-Broadway neighborhoods, more completely than Jonathan Mandell with NewYorkTheater.me. Jonathan declares 2021 will be a year of re-invention, so keep in touch with him.
While Jonathan is the sole innovator and writer for his website, DC Theatre Scene could not have existed without the work of its 214 writers, without the press credentials extended by the theatres and the generosity of their press people, without the support of our advertisers, without the fellowships offered by Day Eight for some of our new writers, without the designers and performers whose work we reviewed.
Without the millions of readers who have found us since 2005, we would have had no reason to continue.
By far our deepest indebtedness extends to the dreamers, the visionaries – the playwrights without whom theatre itself would not exist. Some are becoming less dependent on the producing theatres to get their work seen (Capital Fringe, the Welders and Richard Byrne are local examples).
But however they manage their lives, they are out there now, scribbling notes, typing on tablets or laptops. Some day their work will help us understand ourselves and the crazy world we inhabit. And the sources listed above will help you find them.
